Peter Boettke Reflects on New Nobel Laureates Oliver Hart and Bengt Holmstrom

In “And the Nobel Goes To…Oliver Hart and Bengt Holmstrom” at Coordination Problem, Peter Boettke reflects on the recent Nobel Prize in Economics being awarded to Hart and Holmstrom. He discusses how their work is a continuation of mechanism design and industrial organization theorists such as Hurwicz, Myerson, Maskin, Simon, Williamson, Stigler and Stiglitz. Boettke ultimately stresses both the importance of methodology in economic sciences as well as the connection between methodological, analytical, and ideological positions.
