Austrian economists have much to learn from the work of the Virginia School. Buchanan, especially, has left a legacy of research projects that affect both our understanding of the nature and significance of political economy as well as practical problems of public policy. By merging public choice insights with Austrian analysis - a framework in which Buchanan fits quite comfortably - Austrian can improve their understanding of political economy and butress their case for individual liberty.
